What makes Rest Assured different from a standard Personal Emergency Response System (PERS)?

Our system includes many more sensors and devices above and beyond an emergency response button. Our system and caregivers can proactively assist with various activities of daily living to prevent emergency situations from occurring. We like to think of our services as the equivalent of having a caregiver in the home, with the exception that we can’t provide hands on care. When this is needed, we dispatch a local backup contact.

How many clients does one Rest Assured caregiver monitor at a time?

This varies based on a lot of factors. During the overnight hours one caregiver can monitor 12-16 clients at a time because most people are sleeping and there are very low activity levels. This ratio drop to one caregiver to 3-4 individuals during the daytime hours when people are up and more active.

Can you combine service types?

Yes, you can combine any of our service types together to create a customize service package that best meets your client’s needs.

How do you address privacy and consent issues?
We work with the client and their family to set up a system that is appropriate for their needs and preferences. We require written informed consent for all clients prior to begin services. We avoid using cameras in private areas of the home such as bedrooms and bathrooms.

What happens in the event of an emergency?

Rest Assured caregivers will notify local emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) if there is a major emergency. We can also notify local backup contacts in the event of non-emergency situations that require physical on-site assistance.

What if this doesn’t work or the client doesn’t like the service, are we stuck in a contract.

We ask for a three month commitment to help cover our upfront setup and installation costs. After three months services can be terminated at any time.

Do you use cameras in bedrooms and bathrooms?

No.

How long does the set-up take?

We can have a system installed and providing services within a few weeks. On average it takes about one month to complete our intake process and to schedule an installation. It only takes 1-2 hours of actual work time to complete our intake process.

Does this system require an internet connection?

Yes, our system transmits information from the client’s home to the monitoring center through an internet connection. The base level internet package through your local cable or telephone company will have sufficient speeds for our system.

What if the system is damaged by someone?

Rest Assured will replace or repair broken and/or damaged devices at no additional cost. This is included in the monthly equipment rental fee.
