Indiana study: Telecare can save the state millions

A report from the Indiana Legislative Services Agency indicates the state could save $14 to $15 million annually with statewide implementation of overnight Telecare support services. The cost-effective services combine the use of cameras and sensors in the home with broadband technologies to help professionals at remote centers monitor, communicate with, and provide assistance to older and handicapped people in their homes – allowing them to live independently for longer while reducing the cost of their care.

The Rest Assured® patented Telecare system connects clients with professionals at our virtual support and response center in Lafayette, Indiana. At each client’s home, virtual support devices and cameras are connected to the Internet using the latest wireless technology. At the center, professionals monitor clients and their living environments using software developed by the Wabash Center with support from Purdue University.
