Independence
The response from clients who have been using Rest Assured® Remote Virtual Support and Response services has been very positive. They report a greater sense of independence because there isn't anyone constantly hovering over them and they enjoy not having someone always in their home.
Safety
Clients and family members say they feel more secure because they know help is available when needed. Clients enjoy using the technology to communicate with staff when they want. They know home security is an integral part of the Real Time Virtual Support and Response service package. Each Rest Assured® monitored site can be checked in real time for five basic home security functions including smoke, carbon monoxide, temperature, window and door intrusions and internal motion.Privacy
Privacy is a key component in the Rest Assured ® Real Time Remote Virtual Support and Response system. Computer vision is used only in certain common areas of each home. This includes the kitchen area and exit doors. Network cameras are not placed in private areas, such as bedrooms or bathrooms. Motion sensors may be used in other areas of the home if necessary.
Without having staff physically present in the home, adults are able to do what they want and spend time alone. Cindy, a Rest Assured® user, says, “I didn't like having staff. It made me nervous. I wanted to be by myself. I like to do what I want to do like watching TV.”
